Шины на Toyota Land Cruiser (Тоуота)
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced since 1951. Currently, it is not only one of the most popular models of the Japanese brand, but also a record holder for the duration of serial production.Creation History
This model appeared as a result of the Korean War, which created a demand for a light military off-road vehicle with characteristics superior to those of the legendary Willys. In 1950, the US government ordered the development of such a vehicle and its production in the amount of 100 units from Toyota. The first experimental samples were manufactured in January 1951, receiving the internal index BJ. The car turned out to be larger than the "original", which was largely due to the presence of a sufficiently sized "six" with a volume of 3.4 liters and a power of 85 horsepower and a torque of 215 Nm under the hood. Another difference was the absence of a transfer case, which, nevertheless, did not prevent the off-road vehicle from successfully passing the tests for climbing Mount Fuji, after which the Japanese police ordered 289 such vehicles from Toyota.For the first two years, the serial production of the off-road vehicle was carried out exclusively on order and in small quantities. Everything changed in 1953, when Japan saw a sharp increase in demand for special vehicles, after which the company began mass production of chassis with a cabin, on which various equipment was installed. In June 1954, the off-road vehicle changed its index to the well-known name today. Its author is the then-technical director Hanji Umehara, and the choice in favor of Land Cruiser is due to the existence of the Land Rover off-road vehicle, the main competitor to the BJ, which was supposed to have a no less worthy name. Another reason was the imminent appearance of the second-generation model, which was presented in 1955. It was developed with consideration for "civilian" use and differed not only in its more attractive appearance but also in its smooth ride, ensured by the use of extended 4-leaf springs from the Light Truck pickup. Another feature was the use of a more powerful 135-horsepower 6-cylinder engine Type F with a volume of 3.9 liters. The final "formation" of the off-road vehicle into a car for civilians occurred in 1957, when a version with a 4-door body appeared. The model existed in serial production, continuously modernized, for several decades.
Model FJ55/J60
In 1967, the manufacturer introduced an off-road vehicle with the FJ55 index, which for the first time in the history of the model received a classic "station wagon" body. Another innovation was the appearance of a box-shaped frame, which provided the car with a significant increase in wheelbase compared to its predecessor with the FJ40 index, from which it borrowed most of the components. Without radical changes, the production of the car continued until 1980, when the off-road vehicle with the J60 index made its debut. This was a landmark model for the brand, which for the first time received a number of "civilian" options, including interior design, air conditioning, and an additional heater. The engine range included a 6-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 4 liters and an in-line 3.4-liter "four".Model J80
In the early 1990s, serial production of the off-road vehicle with the J80 index began. It differed from its predecessor in its rounded body and swing-out rear door, which became a single piece in 1994. In technical terms, the key innovation was the appearance of a system of permanent four-wheel drive with an interaxle differential with a lock. In 1992, a viscous coupling appeared in it, which automatically varied the transmission of torque from 30 to 50%. The engine range started with an in-line "six" with a volume of 3 liters. In 1993, the 1FZ-FE - a 6-cylinder power unit with a volume of 4.5 liters - appeared in it. In addition, the engine range included diesel engines - a "naturally aspirated" 4.2-liter 1HZ, or its turbocharged version with the 1HD index.Model J100/105
In January 1998, the brand introduced an off-road vehicle of the next generation, which again became a landmark in the history of this model. Its development was carried out with a pause in 1994 over almost 7 years. Moreover, two versions were created - J100 and J105, which significantly differed from each other in terms of design features and sales markets. The 105th was created on the basis of the J80, borrowing non-split bridges and extremely reliable 6-cylinder engines. In turn, the J100 was focused on more "civilian" use, differing in rack-and-pinion steering, a wider frame, and independent suspension, as well as the presence of a gasoline and diesel V8 in the engine range.Model J200
In 2007, the next-generation off-road vehicle was released. Its development began 5 years earlier, of which 2 years were spent on testing prototypes. The car differed in its frame, borrowed from the Tundra pickup, shortened, which made it more robust. In addition, high-performance brake mechanisms appeared, as well as a strengthened suspension. The lower part of the body was covered with special protective plates, and the roof pillars were made of high-strength steel to protect passengers in the event of a rollover. The engine range was supplemented with a new diesel V8 with two turbines. Despite such significant changes, the car retained its external similarity with its predecessor.Model J300
In the summer of 2021, the brand introduced an off-road vehicle with the J300 index. The most significant difference from its predecessor, apart from the design, was the use of a new GA-F frame, which is more lightweight but has increased rigidity, and also allowed for a reduction in the height of the center of gravity. The car immediately lost 200 kg compared to the previous generation, which, combined with a more correct weight distribution along the axes, significantly improved handling. At the same time, the efficiency off-road did not change, thanks to the angles of entry and exit identical to those of its predecessor. Another innovation was the appearance of electronically controlled suspension and a modernized traction and braking control system. The engine range lost the V8, instead of which 6-cylinder gasoline engines with a volume of 3.4 liters and a diesel power unit with a volume of 3.3 liters with twin turbocharging are offered. Starting from the 1990s, this off-road vehicle has been extremely popular among our compatriots, which can be judged by the number of orders for tires and wheel disks for such cars in the "Mosavtoshina" online store.Advantages of selecting tires for the Toyota Land Cruiser on our website:
- a wide range of tires for medium-sized Japanese off-road vehicles, designed for the most complex operating conditions;- the possibility of purchasing wheel disks, both from the original equipment and high-quality analogs from third-party manufacturers;
- an automated selection system provides high-quality search by vehicle brand and model name;
- our employees, if necessary, will select for your off-road vehicle at least several options, based on technical characteristics and operating conditions.
