The Toyota Granvia has appeared in the production range of the Japanese brand several times. For the first time, a car with this name appeared in 1995, representing one of the variants of the commercial van HiAce, intended for the domestic market of Japan, and was available until 2002. The car presented in 1995 was a classic commercial van of the semi-bonneted layout of that time, intended for passenger transportation. It was available in two trim levels, differing from each other by a salon designed for 7 or 8 seats. The engine range consisted of diesel and gasoline engines with a volume of 2.4 to 3.4 liters, the latter being a V6 and used in the most equipped versions, the concept of which was later embodied in the representative Alphard. The base models had rear-wheel drive, and the more equipped ones had a four-wheel drive system with a clutch on the front axle.

Australian version

In 2019, the Japanese brand again presented a model with this name, which again represented one of the variants of the execution of the commercial van HiAce, but already of the sixth generation. It differed from all the others by the most extensive equipment, inherent in mid-size sedans of the representative class. Most versions were offered with a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. To this, it is worth adding all the advantages of the new platform, which differed from the predecessor in the best way, since the engine was no longer located inside the cabin. In particular, this made it possible to significantly increase the wheelbase, thanks to which 11 seats were placed inside.

Chinese version

In 2022, the Japanese brand presented a mid-size Granvia minivan on the Chinese market, one of the variants of the Sienna model for North America. However, this name in China was already occupied a year earlier, when production of this car began at a joint venture with GAC. The appearance of another minivan was due to the need to load the capacities of another plant, where the Japanese brand collaborated with FAW. This version practically did not differ from the "original", except for the radiator grille and decorative elements on the bumpers. There were many more changes in the equipment. Already in the "base" Chinese version offered a virtual instrument panel and a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Technically, there were no differences from the American Sienna at all. Under the hood is a hybrid power plant, where a 192-horsepower in-line gasoline "four" with a volume of 2.5 liters was supplemented with an electric motor developing 182 horsepower. With maximum load on the wheels, 249 horsepower is fed. The power plant is combined exclusively with an electromechanical variator and front-wheel drive.
