Шины на Toyota Mark II (Тоуота)

The Toyota Mark II was present in the lineup of the Japanese brand from 1968 to 2004. Initially, it was a compact sedan, which later became a mid-size model, which on some markets was offered as a flagship of the brand, replacing the popular worldwide Crown.

First Generation

The sedan, which debuted in 1968, was positioned by the manufacturer as an alternative to the more expensive Crown and the lower-end Corona. In terms of concept, it was closer to the latter, differing only in slightly larger dimensions and improved equipment. In technical terms, the two cars had much in common, primarily in the engine range, which consisted mainly of power units from the Corona - inline fours with a volume of 1.5 and 1.6 liters were installed on a significant portion of the produced copies. Unique to this model were engines with a volume of 1.9 and 2 liters, available, however, only in top-end trim levels. The car also differed in a more extensive range of body types - in addition to the sedan and wagon, the lineup included a pickup and a 2-door coupe.

Second Generation

The car of the next generation was presented in 1972. It retained a technical connection with its predecessor only partially, "moving" to a new X platform. At the same time, the stylistic similarity with the less expensive Corona was preserved, although with specific features that became characteristic only of this model. In technical terms, the key innovation was the appearance in the engine range of 6-cylinder engines, which was due to the appearance of this car on the North American market. It is also worth noting the possibility of choosing between 14 body colors, 10 of which were "metallic". In turn, the salon of this model was distinguished by a finish made of natural wood of the steering wheel, gearshift selector, front seats with mechanical tilt adjustment. The list of additional options included cruise control, air conditioning, a tape music player, and electric windows.

Third Generation

The car presented in 1976 was distinguished by a more "European" design, significantly different from the style of classic Japanese sedans of those years. Another difference was the expansion of the standard equipment, where a stereo receiver with four speakers, an instrument panel with a voltmeter and an oil pressure gauge, as well as an econometer that used intake manifold pressure for indication, appeared. In technical terms, the car was distinguished by a revised chassis, where McPherson struts were used at the front, and a torsion suspension from the Corona at the rear.

Fourth Generation

The car of the fourth generation debuted in the fall of 1980. Compared to its predecessor, it was distinguished by a thoroughly revised design, largely borrowed from the Crown. In terms of dimensions, both models were almost identical. Perhaps the only difference was the engine range, where, however, there were inline fours with turbocharging and a two-chamber fuel injection system, along with 6-cylinder engines with a power of up to 145 horsepower. In terms of equipment, the car was distinguished by the presence of a voice information system for the driver, already in the standard trim.

Fifth Generation

In the late summer of 1984, the Japanese brand presented a car of the fifth generation. In addition to the updated exterior, it was distinguished by a lineup of modifications that was expanded due to a version for corporate fleets, rental services, and taxis. It still included a sedan, wagon, and 2-door coupe with its characteristic wedge-shaped profile of the front and frameless doors. In technical terms, the car changed slightly compared to the previous model. Perhaps the only significant innovation was the appearance of a new 2-liter engine with double turbocharging, developing 182 horsepower.

Sixth Generation

In August 1988, the sixth-generation model was released. It was distinguished by a changed positioning due to the appearance of the Celsior sedan, as well as a more aggressive body design. The dynamic properties corresponded to the exterior, thanks to the appearance in the engine range of inline sixes with a volume of 2.5 to 3 liters, including those with two turbochargers. In such versions, a multi-link rear suspension was also present, along with a 4-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the equipment was expanded. Already in the "base" version, the car offered seat belts with automatic pretensioners, electric windows, cruise control, air conditioning, and a CD player.

Seventh Generation

In 1992, sales of the seventh-generation car began. Compared to its predecessor, it was distinguished by smoothed-out body panel edges and increased width. At the rear, there were rear lights that resembled a katana, due to which this model received the unofficial name "Samurai" in the Russian Far East. Another important difference was the increase in the number of versions. The car was available in six trim levels, two of which were initial and offered only 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. The most popular were the remaining four versions with inline six-cylinder gasoline engines, which were combined, among other things, with a four-wheel drive transmission. The top-of-the-line modification also offered 280 horsepower, a sports suspension, and a body strengthened with additional struts.

Eighth Generation

The car presented in 1996, although it retained stylistic similarities in body design with its predecessor, demonstrated a clear change in concept, ceasing to be a sedan with pronounced sporting inclinations. The base version received a 2.4-liter diesel engine in combination with a 4-speed "automatic". The standard equipment list included electric windows, air conditioning, and among the additional options, there was a traction control system and ABS.

Ninth Generation

In 2000, the ninth-generation car debuted. The lineup of versions included only a sedan, which was distinguished by a rather ordinary exterior. A distinctive feature in technical terms was the appearance under the hood of a new 2.5-liter engine with direct fuel injection, as well as an automatic transmission that used data from a GPS receiver to determine the optimal moment for gear shifting, automatically selecting the optimal gear. The list of additional options for top-end versions included the All-Trac all-wheel-drive system, borrowed from the Celica sports coupe, which used two differentials. Depending on the trim level, the car was equipped with wheels and disks with a diameter of 15 to 17 inches. A large number of such wheel products can be found in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
