Compared to other cars created on this "cart", it was distinguished by an absolutely flat floor in the cabin and luggage compartment. Compared to its predecessor, it was located significantly lower, which, in combination with a higher body, made it possible to significantly increase the internal space. Another feature that largely determined the design of the minivan was Japanese legislation limiting the width and length of cars. Due to this, this model had the maximum dimensions for this standard, due to which the stern and side panels of the body were almost flat.

In the half-hidden under-hood space of the base versions, there was a 2-liter inline-four gasoline engine with an output of 152 liters. s. It was combined only with a variator, and for an additional fee - and with a system of full-wheel drive with a multi-disc clutch on the rear axle. In 2017, the car underwent an update, which mainly affected the exterior. The minivan received a deliberately "sporty" design, which the manufacturer sought to "diversify" it from other models on this platform - Noah and Esquire. Another difference was the appearance in the standard equipment of LED headlights and rear lights, two additional USB connectors, folding tables on the backs of the front seats, as well as noise insulation in the sliding doors. From a technical point of view, perhaps the most significant innovation was the addition to the power frame of the body of several reinforcing elements, which increased the stiffness of the structure for bending and torsion. In addition to the obvious benefits in the form of improved handling, this solution significantly reduced noise and vibration.

Fourth Generation

In the winter of 2022, the Japanese brand presented a car of the fourth generation. From its "twin" Noah, the minivan traditionally differed in a more aggressive design, this time with a 2-tier arrangement of lighting devices. Against the background of its predecessor, the car stood out, first of all, technically, having "moved" to the modular GA-C platform, while preserving the previous chassis layout - MacPherson struts at the front and a semi-dependent beam at the rear. However, the key advantage of the new "cart" was the more efficient use of internal space for the placement of nodes and components. In particular, this made it possible to organize an additional luggage compartment with a capacity of 104 liters in the rear overhang. Another technical innovation was the appearance under the hood of a 2-liter gasoline engine of the Dynamic Force family with an output of 170 liters. s. and 202 Nm, which is combined with the Direct Shift variator, the first gear of which is mechanical. For an additional fee, a system of full-wheel drive with a clutch on the rear axle is offered. An alternative to this "combination" was again a version with a hybrid power plant. But this time, an additional, second electric motor with a power of 41 liters is optionally offered. s. and a torque of 84 Nm, which is a component of the E-Four all-wheel drive system, which was not available for the previous model in principle. The capacity of the traction battery, located under the front seats, again turned out to be quite modest - 4.08 kWh.

The new platform also significantly expanded the equipment of the minivan. First of all, due to electronic systems.
