The Gripmax brand belongs to the Chinese company Qingdao Grip Tyre, founded in 2010 in Qingdao, a manufacturing cluster specializing in the production of automobile tires. This brand is used in tires for SUVs, crossovers, and pickups.
Currently, the brand offers nine models in the following categories:
- for SUVs and pickups;
- for crossovers;
- all-season tires;
- winter tires.
The most numerous is the "off-road" line. It includes tires of the All Terrain and Mud Terrain categories. The most versatile are A/T tires, effective on both asphalt roads and dirt surfaces of any type. This is largely due to the use of a tread pattern of blocks of complex polygonal shape. M/T tires differ in a more aggressive appearance, providing excellent off-road performance and limited on-highway performance, but due to the elastic rubber compound and optimized tread pattern, they demonstrate a quiet and smooth ride.
The crossover tire line consists of High Terrain category models. It is distinguished by a robust off-road tire design and a "highway" tread pattern from Ultra High Performance tires with a massive central rib and side blocks. Such solutions provide sporty precision handling and excellent high-speed stability.
Gripmax all-season tires were developed taking into account the specific features of so-called "European" winters. All models are designed for use mainly on asphalt roads, differing from each other in the number of lamellas and the type of tread pattern. In addition, it is worth noting the presence in the line of the SureGrip A/S Van tire, which is designed for commercial vehicles of small capacity. It is distinguished by an optimized tread pattern, reducing wear and rolling resistance, as well as a reinforced carcass and sidewalls, allowing the tire to withstand operation with significant weight impact.
The brand's winter tires are also designed for operation on asphalt roads. The "sales locomotive" in this segment is the Stature M/S model, which is distinguished by balanced driving properties. This is largely due to the use of a compound with a medium degree of elasticity, due to which the tire demonstrates stable traction, along with a long service life. Another approach is demonstrated by the SureGrip Pro Winter model. The directed V-shaped tread, a large number of small blocks and lamellas, wide directed drainage grooves provide stable traction on wet pavement and slush, fast and precise reactions to the driver's actions.
