The construction of the Barnaul tire plant began in 1956. By the mid-1965, three shops were ready for operation: tire repair, soot, and asbestos technical. In 1969, the production of Barnaul tires began. Since 1974, the plant in Barnaul has been producing 34 types of aircraft tires, both for military and civilian vehicles.
In the 90s of the last century, the enterprise experienced a crisis, and production volumes fell several times. In 2001, the plant became the property of the "Neftekhimprom" group. After that, in 2003, the enterprise was renamed JSC "Altai Tire Company", and later, as a result of the merger, JSC "Altai Tire Combine" ("ATC"). At this time, a wide modernization of equipment begins.
In 2006, the plant's production capacity increased to 1.2 million tires, which is 4% of all tires produced in Russia. Mainly, "ATC" specializes in the production of tires for aviation, military equipment, and certain specialized equipment.
Barnaul tires are used by consumers in many cities of Russia. For example, in Togliatti, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Samara, Omsk, and others. In addition, part of the produced products is sent to CIS countries such as Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and many others. Countries of the far abroad (Mongolia, Romania, Ethiopia, Guinea, Afghanistan) also buy Barnaul tires.
The "Altai Tire Combine" occupies an area of 55 hectares. More than three thousand people work at the enterprise. In addition, the company participates in charity - it provides assistance to the Altai Regional Department of the Russian Children's Fund, which finances the program "No to Childhood Tuberculosis". Material assistance is also provided to the Central House-Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled in Barnaul.
At the present time, "ATC" produces 67 models of tires for domestic and foreign-made cars and agricultural machinery. Of these, 25 models are for passenger cars, 17 for trucks, 13 for agricultural transport, and 12 for light trucks. The company also produces 38 models of tires for aviation. The total model range of the company includes more than 100 names of tires for various types of transport.
The company produces three types of tires: summer, winter, and all-season.
All summer tire models have excellent traction with wet roads. This is achieved by the presence of elastic transverse lugs. Water drainage is provided by smooth and wide longitudinal grooves. Due to this, the speed of aquaplaning and the stability of the vehicle on a wet road increase.
All tread patterns, both on summer and winter tires, were developed very carefully in accordance with the purpose of the tires. For example, on some models of winter tires, there is an S-shaped pattern on the tread for better grip with the road. This allows you to confidently control the car even at high speeds, even on an icy surface.
One of the safest and most reliable tires is a tubeless tire with a metal cord in the breaker. Such tires allow you to maintain control on an icy road and slush. Barnaul tires have an excellent balance of wear and drift, which allows you to predict the trajectory of the turn on any road. Winter tires "ATC" were developed specifically for use in the harsh conditions of the Russian winter.
In addition to winter and summer tires, Barnaul also produces all-season tires. The tread of all-season tires is formed by a zigzag pattern of grooves and studs. The tires have excellent traction, both on wet asphalt and on loose snow. Tires can be used constantly, regardless of the time of year.
All tires of the "ATC" company meet the requirements of the Russian market, national and international quality and safety standards.
