The further modernization of the pickup continued in its 5th generation, presented in 1988. Its wheelbase increased, which added space in the salon, especially behind the front seats. In turn, the cargo platform lost the side walls with welded seams, which in the predecessor were a source of corrosion. The engine range started with a 1.8-liter gasoline inline "four", and ended with a 3-liter V6 with a capacity of 150 horsepower. In 1997, a pickup truck of the next iteration was presented. Despite significant changes in its exterior design, it practically did not change technically. Except for the engine range.
