The Toyota Glanza debuted in the lineup of the Japanese brand in 2019. However, such a power unit could only be combined with a manual transmission.

Second Generation

In the spring of 2022, the Japanese brand introduced a car of the next generation. Unlike its predecessor, there were many more differences from the Maruti Suzuki hatchback. First of all, these are the headlights, which received an LED strip of daytime running lights, as well as a different front bumper with a design stylistically close to the current Toyota models with characteristic chrome brackets on the sides and a massive hanging "chin" of the radiator grille.

In technical terms, both models were again identical to each other, differing from the predecessor, first of all, by engines and transmission. A 1.2-liter gasoline engine, which underwent a cycle of modernization, with a power of 90 horsepower, was installed on all versions. Depending on the trim level, it was combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or its robotized version with one clutch instead of a variator. Modifications intended for sale outside the Indian market received a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, developing 105 horsepower.

Another important difference from the predecessor was the positioning, which shifted towards less affluent buyers due to the appearance of two of the most basic trim levels. This was largely due to the absence of explicit asceticism in them. Already in the "base" version, the car offered climate control, keyless entry. The top versions added a projection screen on the windshield, surround cameras, Arkamys acoustics, and a multimedia system with a 7-inch display to this set.
