The third-generation car appeared in 2013. This time, it was positioned as a standalone model, created on the EFC platform. The sedan received an authentic appearance, the stylistic features of which were later used in the Yaris hatchback. In addition to the new design, the car offered a completely redesigned interior, where the instrument panel was located not in the center, but in front of the driver. Its sales were successful enough to repeatedly extend the model's life cycle with updates. As part of the update, the platform was changed, which received additional stiffness, which reduced noise and vibration, improved handling, along with additional sound insulation between the engine compartment and the cabin. The car received new engines of the same volume, as well as a variator with 7 virtual "gears".
