The SUV was equipped with several gasoline engines: 1UR-FE – 4.6 liters, 2UZ-FE VVT-i – 4.7 liters, 3UR-FE – 5.7 liters. All of them were complemented by a 5- or 6-speed automatic transmission. After the restyling, the car began to be equipped with the proprietary Toyota Safety Sense system, which consisted of adaptive cruise control, lane monitoring, emergency automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, automatic lighting, and collision warning when driving in reverse. The new SUV, presented in 2022, is based on the GA-F platform, which also implies a frame structure. The manufacturer returned to a solid rear axle (as in the first generation).
