Tigar

The Serbian company Tigar emerged relatively recently (nevertheless, even before the Second World War, which already says a lot). The year of its creation is 1935. The name of the company translates from Serbian as "tiger", which, however, is not too difficult to guess.

As is often the case with successful businesses (or rather, as it often happens with success stories), the company began producing automobile tires only in 1959. And today it is already part of the renowned Michelin group of companies.

It's worth noting that the tires of this brand have a relatively low price, and due to this, they have gained stable popularity in fifty countries around the world. The company's facilities produce automobile tires for passenger cars, light trucks, and vans.

History of development

The company's first factory, located in the Serbian city of Pirot (on the territory of the former Yugoslavia), began its activity with the production of various rubber products. Already in 1959, a new factory was put into operation, fully specialized in the production of automobile tires. Today, more than 1,800 people work at this factory.

Five years after the launch, production reached a volume of 1.6 million tires per year. And today, Tigar produces around four million tires per year and has the status of a holding company.

The production of radial tires began at the company's factories in 1972. The most important milestone in the brand's history was the conclusion of a technical cooperation contract in 1974 with the American tire manufacturer BF Goodrich. It was thanks to this agreement that a global modernization took place at the "Tigar" factories, and the production of high-class products was established, which today are in stable high demand all over the world. This cooperation continues to this day, for example, in Jacksonville, a subsidiary of TIGAR-AMERICAS was opened within its framework.

This, by the way, was not the last cooperation contract signed by the described brand. In 1997, the company also established a long-term partnership with Michelin, with which it implements and realizes various joint projects. As part of this partnership, the Tigar factory switched to using the quality control system adopted at Michelin's factories and was able to obtain the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

In 1997, a new factory was opened, which produces tires for cars - it is located in the city of Babushnica.

Today

Today, the company continues to operate as part of the Michelin group and has achieved significant successes in creating tires that are close to ideal in quality. At least, when driving on city roads. The company carefully ensures that the cost of their products is not overstated, and it can be afforded by all car enthusiasts who value reliability and quality.
