DescriptionDescription Tigar Sigura Stud
The Tigar Sigura Stud winter studded tire, produced by the renowned Serbian manufacturer, is designed for a wide range of small and medium-sized passenger cars. This model is available in more than two dozen of the most popular sizes, ranging from 175/70R13 to 205/55R16. At the same time, in some sizes, this model is produced in a non-studded version.
The tread of this model is equipped by Serbian tire makers with the most popular V-shaped pattern of our time, which has given the tire a number of significant advantages. At the same time, the design of this tire is distinguished by minimalism and laconism, which made it possible to keep the cost of the final product at a fairly democratic level.
The tread of the Tigar Sigura Stud tire has only four longitudinal ribs, including two shoulder zones. The V-shaped pattern has made it possible to provide a larger contact area, as well as stability of the contact patch size, regardless of the driving conditions. Due to this technical solution, it was possible to achieve not only excellent traction on dry pavement, but also to reduce the likelihood of uneven wear, leading to a reduction in the life of the tire. In addition, the V-shaped tread pattern has provided excellent acceleration and braking efficiency, especially on slippery surfaces.
In the center of the tread, Serbian engineers have placed two wide longitudinal ribs, which are essentially two rows of separate blocks, distinguished by their great height and massiveness. At the same time, all blocks are equipped with S-shaped lamellas, which form additional edges that effectively pierce the water film, making it possible to provide more reliable traction with a slippery surface. In addition, the massiveness and great height of the tread blocks allow the tire to behave more confidently in deep snow.
Main features of Tigar Sigura Stud
- V-shaped design of the tread pattern provides excellent traction on snowy and icy surfaces;
- Good cross-country ability in deep snow due to the large height and size of the tread blocks;
- 6-row studing and a large number of S-shaped lamellas, thanks to which excellent traction is provided when driving on ice;
- Excellent resistance to aquaplaning due to the optimal angle of inclination of the diagonal grooves, a large number of transverse channels, as well as the great depth of the tread pattern.

They were the original Japanese ones I used, but these seemed to me to be softer, although that might be a plus, I had a few potholes and the ride was normal.

My review: Tiga Sigura Stud 225/50 R17 tires. They are certainly good tires, but for Europe as they are just a muddy tire which got two rows of studs. The positives are: the tire is soft (does not become hard in frost) is moderately quiet, well grips snow and mud, good price. If you live in a small city and drive reasonably, they are quite good. The negatives are: during operation, I had to buy

I drive in the city with turns into alleys covered in ice or snow. So that's how I've been driving on these ice and snow - that's the best it can be, it's all perfectly grippy. The ride is quiet, you can't hear a thing from inside the car. Braking is great, even in minus 30 they don't lock up, but they're not too soft even in plus 20. In other words, you can change your shoes in advance
