Description Tigar Ice
The Tigar Ice studded tire is designed for small and medium-sized passenger cars. The model is offered in several dozen sizes for wheels with a diameter of 15 to 17 inches and a tread height of 50 to 65%. It is characterized by good traction and braking efficiency on icy and wet surfaces, as well as pronounced fuel-saving properties.
Directional Tread Pattern
The tire, including the design of its tread, was developed by Michelin specialists. They chose a directional V-shaped tread with a symmetrical arrangement of elements. It is characterized by a large number of very long edges, inclined at a fairly large angle relative to the direction of movement. This significantly improves both the traction properties, especially on snow, and the directional stability. Another advantage of this design is a significant reduction in rolling resistance and tread wear.
Reliability on Ice
To ensure reliable traction on ice, the developers use a whole complex of technical solutions. First and foremost, these are numerous studs, the installation scheme of which was selected using computer modeling tools. In addition, the tread contains a huge number of narrow slits - lamellas. The edges formed by them allow the tire to effectively grip any slippery surface, including ice.
Key Features of Tigar Ice
- V-shaped tread pattern developed by Michelin specialists;
- optimized stud placement scheme and dense lamellation provide reliable traction on ice;
- a rubber compound with increased silica content improves the effectiveness of the tread on any winter surface.
