Under the hood was the same V8, but after a modernization cycle, developing 445 horsepower and 651 Nm of torque. Visually, the car differed from the "standard" with bumpers, exhaust pipes, and wheel design. Inside, it stood out with decorative elements made of carbon fiber and aluminum, which had become characteristic of the M series.

Third Generation

In 2019, the brand introduced the third-generation crossover. Compared to its predecessor, it differed in a slightly changed concept, where there was less "sport" and more comfort. Almost all technical components were taken from the M-series passenger cars. First of all, the combination of a biturbo V8 engine with a volume of 4.4 liters, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and an xDrive all-wheel drive system with an active differential on the rear axle. Unlike passenger "emoks", its settings lacked a drift mode, which also provided for the mechanical disconnection of the front-wheel drive. The base versions were equipped with a standard 4.4-liter engine with an output of 600 "horses" and a torque of 750 Nm, slightly more than the previous one. The more sporty Competition version received its 625-horsepower version in a package with a more "sonorous" exhaust system and a body strengthened with numerous struts. Its standard equipment included an adaptive chassis and an active stabilizer on the rear axle. The visual difference from the original X6 was more aggressive bumpers, mirrors with double-legged mounts, an enlarged spoiler on the rear door, and two pairs of double exhaust pipes. In the salon, there were front seats with increased lateral support, a steering wheel with buttons for activating M modes, and a multimedia system with a "racing" graphics design.

In 2023, an updated version of the crossover was released. Compared to its predecessor, it differed in a more aggressive external appearance, especially in the front part, where new, narrower headlights appeared, as well as in the salon, which received a thoroughly redesigned design with a single panel of "instruments" and a multimedia system. However, the key innovation was the powerplant, which received a "hybrid" add-on in the form of a 12-horsepower electric motor integrated into the transmission. It helps the engine in the first seconds of acceleration and increases the operating time of the start-stop system when slowing down. The energy source for it is a 48-volt battery located under the hood. The gasoline engine was modernized, receiving other turbochargers, an intake system, a crankshaft, and an exhaust system with controlled valves, along with an 8-speed "automatic", which, in turn, had revised gear ratios, increased hydrotransformer performance. And all this did not lead to an improvement in dynamic characteristics, since the hybrid "add-on" increased the car's mass by 65 kg.
