Шины на BMW X4 M (БМВ)

The BMW X4 M was in the German brand's production range from 2019 to 2025. The car, like other M-series representatives, was positioned as a "charged" version of the mid-size X4 crossover, which occupies an intermediate position between the X3 and X5.

First Generation

The car, which debuted in 2019, was created based on the X4 crossover of the second generation. The previously existing "charged" versions in its lineup were nominally so, essentially representing the top versions of the X3 model. The novelty differed significantly from them in terms of technical components. First of all, this is the engine, a modified version of the gasoline "six" with two turbochargers from the M3/M4 passenger cars. The key difference was the increased pressure in the direct fuel injection system from 200 to 350 bar, which entailed corresponding changes in the lubrication and cooling systems. As in the standard version, both turbochargers work in parallel, servicing three cylinders each. But the most significant innovation was the appearance of a cylinder head printed using a 3D printer, which made the part lighter and allowed optimizing the design and layout of the cooling system channels. The final result was 480 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. At the same time, the Competition version had its power increased to 510 horsepower. In all versions, the power unit worked in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission with the possibility of manual shifting, and it retains the gear even when reaching maximum revs.

Another important component distinguishing the crossover from the standard model was the all-wheel drive system. Technically, it is identical to the one used in the M5 sedan, with the only feature being the absence of the possibility of completely disconnecting the front axle. As an alternative, a similar M-mode of transmission operation is offered, supplemented by an active differential on the rear axle. In turn, the chassis is distinguished by a significantly modified suspension with unique levers, stabilizers, and elastic connections. Already in the standard equipment, there were adaptive shock absorbers and steering with a variable gear ratio. In addition, the brake mechanisms are composite, where cast-iron discs are combined with aluminum hubs. Another significant difference was the additional reinforcements in the engine compartment, enlarged air intakes in the front bumper, a massive spoiler on the edge of the rear door, and tires with different tread widths. The salon, in turn, was distinguished by front seats with greater lateral support than the standard, a different transmission control lever, and a steering wheel with red buttons that activate the M-modes with the possibility of "starting" individual settings on them.

Second Generation

In 2021, the German brand presented an updated version of the "charged" crossover. The car's exterior underwent minor changes, the most noticeable of which were the narrower headlights and rear lights with revised graphics. The salon was distinguished by the presence of a new control unit for the 3-zone climate control system, which received its own monochrome display, located between the ventilation deflectors above the central tunnel. It also underwent changes, having a rearranged transmission control unit and multimedia system.

In technical terms, there were many more changes. First of all, the engine range was reduced due to the exclusion from it of the least powerful 480-horsepower engine. The in-line gasoline "six" with double turbocharging, after another cycle of modernization, offered an increased torque from 600 to 650 Nm at an identical 510 horsepower. In combination with the modified engine control program, this allowed reducing the acceleration time to the first "hundred" from 4.1 to 3.8 seconds. As before, 20-inch wheels and tires with different tread widths were standard for this crossover. Such wheel products are constantly present in the assortment of the "Mosavtoshina" online store.
