In technical terms, the car has a close "kinship" not only with the Active Tourer but also with the Mini Countryman, sharing not only the platform but also most of the mechanical components. The engine range started with an in-line "trio" with a turbocharger and a volume of 1.5 liters, developing from 101 to 138 hp, depending on the degree of boosting. In its most powerful version, this engine has two turbochargers. Additionally, it is used in a hybrid powertrain, along with an electric motor and a traction lithium-ion battery. The most dynamic version is equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 228 hp. Furthermore, a significant number of modifications are available with diesel engines, developing from 94 to 188 hp. Depending on the installed power unit, the car was equipped with 6-speed manual transmissions, 6- and 8-speed "automatics", as well as an all-wheel-drive system.
