The Audi SQ8 e-tron was unveiled in 2022, being an upgraded version of the 2018 e-tron crossover. Compared to its predecessor, the car was distinguished by a modified radiator grille with enlarged cells, stylized as a standard Q8, as well as a larger diffuser under the rear bumper and a different design of the wheel disks. In addition, the shields and spoilers under the bottom were optimized, which made it possible to reduce the aerodynamic drag coefficient Cx to 0.27.

A significant part of the changes also affected the technical components. First of all, the 2-motor versions acquired a different electric motor on the rear axle, which began to consume slightly less energy due to an increase in the number of turns in the winding from 12 to 14. The total power of the power plant was increased to 340 hp and 664 Nm, and the capacity of the traction battery was increased to 89 kWh, which made the range longer - up to 491 kilometers. The upgraded on-board charging device is designed to work with DC power sources up to 150 kW, which significantly reduced the charging time. Among other technical innovations, it is worth noting the changed gear ratio of the steering, which made the car's reactions more acute. Also, the settings of the chassis with air elements were revised, which after that became capable of changing the clearance in the range of 76 mm.

The interior underwent minor changes. The front console still contains three displays in the basic configuration, and a projection screen was added to them as an option. In addition, a combined seat trim appeared in the options, which is made using recycled plastic, along with sound insulation and floor covering.
