An important technical innovation was the appearance of an upgraded Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive system, where two clutches are used instead of one, like its predecessor. This scheme allows you to completely disconnect the rear axle, which on the highway allowed saving up to 0.5 liters of fuel per 100 km. The engine range was supplemented with two "hybrids" - MHEV and PHEV. In the first case, the car could travel up to 32 km without using the internal combustion engine. The PHEV version was available in the "charged" SQ5 modification, in which the total power of the electric and gasoline engine reached 362 horsepower, which allowed acceleration to "hundred" almost a second faster.
