The key difference of the novelty was the body design, which received a more sloping roof shape, borrowing this solution from the flagship Q8 model. Similar changes occurred in the front part, which acquired a more aggressive exterior appearance. At the same time, in technical terms, the car completely repeats the standard Q5, except for the line of engines, which has been significantly reduced to two engines. The "base" is an in-line petrol "four" with a turbocharger with a volume of 2 liters, developing 180 horsepower. In mid-level trim, the car is equipped with the same engine, but with increased boost pressure, thanks to which its power is 249 horsepower. The most dynamic modifications offer a 3-liter "six" with a turbocharger, developing 249 horsepower, but with a much higher torque - 580 Nm. All engines work in conjunction with the Quattro Ultra transmission, in which the propeller shaft is physically disconnected from the rear wheels at certain driving modes. When the front axle slips or when the accelerator pedal is pressed aggressively for milliseconds, the system connects the rear wheels. This allows to reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.5 liters per 100 km. Despite the use of not the most powerful engines, the crossover is distinguished by a rather impressive dynamics, which can be realized when using the right tires.
