In 1988, the model was significantly updated, receiving a design in the style that was relevant for the brand at that time. Internal changes affected the power "cell", which became significantly stronger, which improved passive safety and handling. The engine range was supplemented with engines from 2.3 to 2.8 liters, including the legendary 20-valve in-line 5-cylinder power unit. In the salon, solutions from the standard sedan were again used, combined with sports "touches". Compared to its predecessor, the car was favorably distinguished by improved interior materials, the density of the front seats, a more informative instrument panel, and a productive heating and ventilation system.
