Second Generation

The next generation of the coupe appeared in 2017, following the debut of the standard A5. The key difference from the predecessor was the engine. This time, a V-shaped "six" with a volume of 2.9 liters with two turbochargers was used, "borrowed" from the Porsche arsenal, which has this power unit as a standard for the Panamera hatchback. With the same power as the predecessor, the new engine significantly surpassed it in terms of traction capabilities. The torque not only increased to 600 Nm but also became available at 1900 rpm. The power unit worked in tandem with an 8-speed hydromechanical "automatic" from ZF. The settings of the all-wheel-drive system have changed significantly. "By default", the traction is distributed between the axes in a ratio of 40/60 in favor of the rear wheels, but at the same time, an active inter-wheel differential is provided for them, which ensures much better directional stability during sharp accelerations. With such components, the car reaches the first "hundred" in 3.9 seconds. It is worth noting the significantly reduced weight of the coupe, which is 60 kilograms lighter than its predecessor. Additionally, the mass can be reduced by ordering an optional carbon fiber roof.

Externally, the coupe can be easily distinguished from the standard version by more pronounced wheel arches, which are 1.5 cm wider, as well as by the clearance, which is significantly lower than that of the "original". In the salon, the "charged" coupe stands out with sports seats with integrated headrests, leather trim, and a "cut-off" bottom steering wheel. 19- and 20-inch wheels are standard for this model.
