    The car was created on the basis of the A3 sedan of the fourth generation. The same modular platform is used here, but in a modernized version, which differs from the "original" with a greater distance between the axles. Before this model, the German brand had experience in extending sedans for the Chinese market, but this time the increase was more than modest - plus 44 mm, which, together with the changed design of the rear body and bumper, increased the overall length of the car by 53 mm, bringing this indicator to 4.54 meters. To a large extent, this was done intentionally in order to maximally distance itself from the "Chinese" version of the A4 sedan, which turned out to be more than 30 cm longer. As with other models of the brand, all the extra space was given to the passengers of the second row, who got significantly more legroom.

    In terms of equipment, this model is almost completely identical to the sedan variants offered all over the world, with the exception of the list of additional options, which has been reduced to a minimum. Another difference was the engine range, which consists of only one engine - an in-line turbocharged petrol "four" with a volume of 1.4 liters and a power of 150 "horses". It works in tandem with a 7-speed robotic gearbox S tronic. In addition to the engines, the all-wheel drive system was also not available for this model. All versions without exception have only front-wheel drive, along with the simplest version of the rear suspension, where a semi-dependent beam is used.
