Studs are holding - the car is not.

The tire does not allow you to relax - neither on the track nor in the city. It keeps you in constant tension.

Studs are more of an option than a functional feature. When stopping on an icy climb, they cannot hold the car. (The number of studs per tire has been reduced by European laws, and the size of the stud - by marketers)

Everything is known by comparison. Better than Finnish Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4, with a large rectangular stud - I haven't used (although the car weighed 1.3 tons, not 1.7). It held on an icy climb when stopped and really cut the ice, rather than scratching it. I went to the website, I think about what to order. But the prices somehow don't appeal to me at all.

I have experience driving on Michelin X-Ice North4 and UltraGrip Ice Arctic.
The differences from Michelin are as follows:
    1. A small number of studs, on front-wheel drive, there are more wheel spins when starting.
    2. The side grip of Goodyear is poor, sharp maneuvers are dangerous, you can feel the "tail" swaying, on Michelin there is no hint of this.
    3. The studs fall out, there are few of them to begin with, and they come out, over the season, about 5 have come out of the tire.
Otherwise, I didn't notice any significant differences.
It's worth noting that the tire is an old development, and new models from Goodyear may have improved their parameters.
I won't recommend buying this tire, it's better to choose something more modern with better traction.

I've been thinking about the tires for my new car for a long time for the winter season. Previously, I had Nokian Hakka and Nordman on other cars. I considered a lot of options, but in the end, I chose Goodyear. There were a lot of reviews saying that the studs would come loose, but I had all studs in place for the season, except for a couple on one tire. My driving style is neither aggressive nor pensioner-like. Overall,

I was really pleased with this tire model, it's relatively quiet, and it glides smoothly over potholes and bumps. I noticed that on ice I had to get used to adjusting my driving style, but after the first 5000 km on the tire, it got a lot better, maybe it was just me getting used to it, or maybe it was just habit. Since winter was mostly mild, the roads were mostly wet, and the tire handled it well, performing nicely on wet

The tire size is 245/45/R18, and the car is a Lexus GS 250 with a rear-wheel drive. The tire performs well on loose snow, brakes well on ice, and drives confidently without any issues with starting or braking. The only downside I would note is that the tire is very loud, and despite driving for several thousand kilometers, it has not become quieter. This is particularly noticeable given the car's good soundproofing. My friend has the same tire on his Toyota

I bought this tire based on friends' advice for my wife's car. I'll start with the downsides.
It's extremely noisy on clean asphalt at speeds above 60 km/h. Driving on a highway is uncomfortable due to the noise.
    Next come the positives.
These tires are a storm in snow and ice. They hold up perfectly on ice. High traction in loose snow. My wife didn't get stuck even once this winter. She used to

    Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 205/55 R16 T 94.

    Advantages:

Everything is great, especially the first winter: never got stuck once, despite it being a very snowy winter. Cuts through like a tractor. Ice, deep snow, snowy sludge, asphalt at plus temperatures - everything is very good. Very serious tread on the whole width of the tire, uniform rows. Bought in October 2014. Tire is strong, been driving 5th season.

    Hello!
Before the winter of 2019, I had to choose a tire for my vehicle. The car is heavy, with a raised suspension. My Hilux, dry weight 2300, is not a LCV, but 2300...
    Before that, it was:
on ford ranger - Toyo fender,Toyo fender,
on Hilux - Blizzak and Ice Cruiser 5000, all sizes 265/

I've bought this product for the second time. Golf 7 195/65/15.
The first set ran for approximately 40,000-50,000 km. During the first season, around 5 studs fell off, during the second season almost half of them, and on the third season, only about 20 remained.
    Minus points:
Howls at high speeds. Yes, it gets quieter over time, but the colder it gets

    Front-wheel drive vehicle, 270 HP.
I didn't have enough patience to properly break in the tires, so I started tearing them up on the asphalt! Then I took part in an ice auto race on the lake.
The braking and acceleration are good. The lateral stability is bad. This was clear right away by the tread pattern, but I bought these for normal driving, not racing.
The result of the short break-in (around 200 km)
