Goodyear UltraGrip Arctic 2 225/55/17 on a Forester SH9 - permanent four-wheel drive. I've been driving since late October. The tire is a bit stiff, it feels every unevenness on the asphalt (inflated to 2.2 - front, 2.1 - rear). Handling on asphalt, in snowy slush, on rolled snow, on ice - excellent. Snow drifts between lanes on asphalt, shallow snow on asphalt, deep (up to the axle) snow (both loose and dense) - no complaints about either passability or handling. I was surprised by the excellent acceleration on asphalt, there's no feeling that someone is holding the car by the rear. Before this, I had ContiIce, even of the first release. Those, of course, were more comfortable - softer, but on snow, the car would sometimes skid. I got out of a rolled snow deep rut without straining. I haven't been on black ice yet. In general, the impression is that these tires are for cities and areas where heavy snowfalls are frequent.

The tires are very satisfying so far. The grip is excellent. Moderately noisy. On snow and ice, the movement is confident. I drive on black ice like in summer!!!

Good grip. On asphalt, it behaves predictably, doesn't throw out of the rut, and there's no aquaplaning at adequate speeds. In terms of comfort, it feels like I didn't change from summer tires, except for a small noise from the studs. When cornering, there's a feeling that it's about to skid, but in the end, it handles perfectly.

I've been driving on these tires for 2 winters now. What can I say?

These are probably the best tires I've ever driven on. They're simply made for bad, uncleared roads. Ruts and ice? No problem! Snow with ice - no problem either!

This tire doesn't care about anything except dry asphalt, where it tends to drift a bit on circular movements due to its powerful studs. Either slow down significantly. In all other respects, the tire is worth every penny! The studs grip like crazy, and this tire has very powerful studs. I don't spare the tire, often accelerating from traffic lights with wheelspin, and it confidently pulls, and over two winters, not a single stud has been lost.

Take them, don't even think about it!

First impressions of the tire:

1. The tires are not noisy at all - and this is with a 0 km run-in, I drove 7 km at a speed of 0 to 80 km/h. The only sound is from the unrun-in studs, the tread itself makes no noise, no hum. I don't know why they are noisy for someone, what did you drive on, try driving on Hakkas, Pirellis or Continentals, that's where there's really noise, and these tires after run-in will be as quiet as summer tires, I'm 100% sure. I drove on the previous model of Ice Arctic, and the tread was like a tractor's, and in the Camry it was almost inaudible, and these tires have a less aggressive tread and smaller studs.

2. Outside temperature is +6, braking and lane changing on dry asphalt is like in summer.

3. I read in the reviews that it's stiff, transmits all road irregularities, but in the Camry it's not like that at all, probably it depends on the suspension stiffness, I don't know, there's tires in this class that are much stiffer. From my own experience (35 years of driving), this tire is the golden mean in terms of stiffness, too soft - the studs fly off and wear out quickly, and it floats, while too stiff - it's worse for traction and not comfortable to drive and noisy.

I won't write about snow and ice, I haven't driven on them yet (although I know for sure that it's not a problem for them), there are reviews above, people write that everything is super, I don't doubt it, since I know Goodyear very well from my own experience.

It seems a bit narrow, purely visually, maybe it just seems that way.

Dry asphalt is not their forte, but the tires are designed for winter!

The tires were a very pleasant surprise, performing flawlessly on ice and snow. They simply do their job and THAT'S ALL!!! There was some noise for the first 500 km on asphalt, but on snow, there is absolutely no noise. I definitely recommend them.

Excellent tires. Allows you to drive confidently on any surface. Ice and snow hold perfectly, if you still overdid it with speed, then the skid is smooth, soft and very predictable. In deep snow, it digs perfectly, I cleared a snow-covered parking lot with my bumper, there was no hint of getting stuck. On asphalt, there is a big difference from the previous model, much quieter. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

They handle well on any surface, absolutely predictable behavior, the noise level is not very high, considering the presence of studs. They are quite hard (101XL), which is why comfort suffers. After 3000 km, all the studs are in place, and here they are of a large size and interesting shape (paddle).

225x60x18 made in Germany, for Rav4 21, 2.5, tires purchased in September 2021. The tires have been used for 4 winters, with a total mileage of 6500 km. The operating conditions are predominantly city and nearby suburbs, with no more than 1500 km of highway driving. Among the advantages - they can drive almost everywhere, I managed to get stuck only once when driving down a steep hill on wet spring snow in a rut outside the city on the river bank. But I got out, backed up, dug in the center and eventually drove through on the second try. Dry snow in any amount is not a problem, tested by driving through snowed-in garages in winter 2023-2024. On public roads, there are no issues - they hold within reasonable limits on ice, wet asphalt, snow, and snowy slush. The noise level is moderate, definitely quieter than the previous Ice Arctic, which I used for a couple of seasons on Avensis before 2021. But not everything is so sweet - over 4 seasons, on 3 out of 4 wheels, one stud has been lost, which, considering the calm driving style and small mileage, is not the best result. Therefore, in terms of manufacturing quality, I gave only three stars in the rating table. There are no questions about the tire itself - minimal wear, the sidewall is in order, and there have been no punctures. Considering the low purchase price in 2021 of 11.6 thousand, the price-to-quality ratio is pleasing, but now for a price tag of around 30 thousand per tire, I would probably choose Michelin.
