I bought the same car for my dad and myself. The GoodYear Ultra grip ice+ tires arrived, and at first, to be honest, I didn't like them on ice. I got into a couple of tricky situations. I was disappointed that the model was worse than I expected. However, it seemed that I needed to get a good feel for the tires, so that the friction could really work. I'm completely satisfied with the tread - it's soft, quiet and handles well in turns. Not the best on ice, but perfect elsewhere. Wet and dry asphalt are their element.

Driving around Yalta on the ultra grip 9 is a pure pleasure!)) We don't often have frost, and snow and black ice are rare occurrences accompanying winter. What we do have, this tire takes care of with ease. Wear is extremely low. Noise is minimal. I'm most convinced about my car, when it comes to the tire!

For me, the tire is one of the top products for alpine winter type. Goodyear has already eaten the technology, as they say. The road is driven as in summer, with zero aquaplaning. Always clear traction, maneuverability at high altitudes. People who can drive in winters down to -15 can drive calmly, they don't buckle.

Comparing to studs, I wouldn't even touch the ultra grip 9, there are of course drawbacks in the form of weak grip on ice, but the quietness and excellent traction on the track completely outweigh this issue, and, besides, there is only a bit of ice on the roads a couple of times during the winter, so you can drive a bit more carefully in some places, but then you can drive safely on the track without hearing the rumble of studs.

A pair of my colleagues with extensive driving experience strongly recommended these tyres. I bought them, fitted them and immediately took them for balancing. They balanced well and quickly on low loads. I drove on them throughout the season, feeling very confident. Our climate isn't harsh, and we mostly drive on dry and wet asphalt, sometimes on snow. The tyres perform well on any surface, and I am highly satisfied.

I have a 2L GT and after years of trying out different tires, I've found the Goodyear Ultragrip 9 to be a fairy tale. Everything else is a compromise, but the Goodyear Ultragrip 9 is a dream come true, with its comfort and fuel economy being just the tip of the iceberg. Try it out, you won't regret it.

I'm gaining speed fairly well and braking, on a snowy track, they're doing a good job disposing of slush and dirt, generally behaving well at temperatures that aren't too low, but at -20, they've lost elasticity and started to harden. I was really pleased with the way they held the road during turns at high speeds, the car wasn't being thrown off, even during sharp turns and braking, and as for wear, it's quite acceptable.

It was on the Polo for two seasons, I forgot about the noise and puddles, now I'll never put studs on again, now only the sticker, and I think about its durability and wear resistance, I'll come back to buying a new winter tire, not soon.

P.S. for some reason Polo is not chosen, had to choose Golf.

Finished two seasons with them, very happy with the tires. I drive every day. Silent, soft, and they grip well almost any black ice. In two winters, the ABS system has engaged no more than 5 times, and that was when I was braking on a slippery road covered with a layer of "snow slush" while in neutral gear. My colleague, who bought the same tires on my recommendation, finished one season and is very satisfied. Made in Slovenia.
