The only question that arose about the quality is the quality of the tires themselves. Mine were made in Russia. Previously, I operated North2 on a BMW 320 (e90) - sold with them. And there, the quality was much higher. For 4 full winter seasons, I lost 3-7 studs on each wheel (on average). And, at the same time, the profile wear was minimal. And I operate my cars in the north of the Irkutsk region, where frosts can be as low as -45 and there is a sharply continental climate. Well, with the second series, there were no questions at all. Then there was a third series on a Lexus ES pre-restyling (60 series) - also no complaints, sold with the car with 40,000 mileage. But the 4th series..... This is something. In the very first season, the studs began to go inside the tires, piercing the rubber layer. The studs bend. And I didn't change my driving style. The rubber became much softer, which had a very good effect on climate resistance, and a very bad effect on wear. The result after two years - a loss of up to 30 studs on each tire. And I threw away two tires, because it's pointless to patch them due to stud punctures. I'm wearing out the two remaining ones with Kormoran for the last season. BUT!!! The handling on any surface is simply ideal. Lane holding, skidding, slipping, stability on any winter surface - everything is above all praise. I made 6 big trips with the 4th series in two years, with a total distance of 16,000 km. And everywhere, in different situations, they helped me out.

This is probably the most understandable and adequate studding of all the ones I've had to drive on.
I'm already quite old. I've driven about 800,000 km on passenger cars on Russian roads, probably slightly less than half of that in winter.
There are no obvious drawbacks to this tire. I recommend it.

For 15 years in winter, I've been driving on Nokian Hakkapeliitta, as I believe that only by living in harsh winter conditions can you develop tires that truly correspond to harsh conditions.

I'll say right away - I only decided on this because for the last 5 years in the summer I've only been taking Michelin. The tire meets all my requirements: very comfortable and at the same time it holds the road well and is quite wear-resistant, unlike, for example, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Green. Previously, I drove on Bridgestone in the summer, which has good wear resistance and grip, but the comfort is not quite right.

Regarding this tire, I can only say positive qualities, but in comparison, for example, with Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8, which is currently on my second car, it holds the road worse on an icy track. I think this difference is precisely because of the small studs, unlike Nokian.

For whom comfort is more important - Michelin.

For whom a more confident grip on an icy road is a priority - Nokian Hakkapeliitta.

Switched to these tires after 10 years of using friction tires, specifically Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice+ and Ice 2. Handling on ice, starting on ice, and stopping - all top-notch! I did a long comparison between Michelin, Continental and Hankook. Read reviews, watched tests. But stopped at Michelin. Size 215/55R17. Covered 2500km. There was snow, slush and dry asphalt. Replaced Michelin X-ice North Xin2, which ran for 6 seasons. Bought tires in summer. Compared to Xin4, significantly less noise, improved acoustic comfort, tires seemed softer and lighter. First 700 km driven at speeds not exceeding 70 km/h, no sharp starts and braking, as recommended by the manufacturer. First freeze with ice formation on the tread did not pose any problems with vehicle movement. Recommend for purchase, the price is justified

205/50 R17. I've driven my tires and I'm sharing my impressions. I liked how the car handles on the road with these tires. Everything is smooth and predictable. I drove both in the city at a small plus temperature and outside the city at -35. They hold the road perfectly. In turns, skidding on poor coverage is minimal and predictable, easy to adjust. On ice, everything is also good, within reason, of course. The studs are quiet enough, not annoying. On snow, it grips perfectly. Two seasons without losing studs. And I started with wheelspin and in turns, it slightly understeered. In the third season, the studs loosened in the grooves. Several were lost. At the beginning of the 4th season, vibration of two wheels appeared. One tire was noticeably deformed. From the tread, the outer side was inflated, became like an egg. Wire started sticking out of the tread. The second tire is also curved, but a little better, the wire doesn't stick out. I bought the tires at the end of 19 for 7850 rubles. Now, of course, the price of 22370 is inadequate, even though it has decreased by 5 thousand. In general, for 3 seasons, it's an excellent option if you don't look at the price.

I needed new winter tires before the start of the winter season. I chose the studded Michelin X-ICE North 4 tires. The quality of the tires is very impressive, even when simply feeling them, the tread pattern seems technological and reliable. And most importantly, it's the studding. Unlike most winter tires from other manufacturers, the Michelin X-ICE North 4 has studs that are half the size, but twice as numerous as regular studding. This provides good traction on one hand, and on the other hand, the smaller size of the studs protects them from damage when driving on asphalt. It's also noticeable that each stud is surrounded by a special rubber insert that holds it more securely in the tire layer.

I've driven on these tires for two winters, covering approximately 20,000 km. My driving style is calm,

but on the highway, in good weather conditions, I like to push it to 150-160 km/h. I'm extremely satisfied with the result. The tires hold the car well on any surface. They surprised me on ice, with excellent grip. I previously had Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires, and the difference is very noticeable. I've driven a lot on intercity roads on clean asphalt. I'm very surprised - not a single stud has come loose!!!

The tires are a five plus, the only downside is the high price, but the tires are worth it. I'm convinced that this is a case where we pay for real quality!!! The tires are very comfortable, after the studs have worn in, you can only feel a slight rustling from the studs, no humming.

To those who haven't made up their mind yet, I advise you to take them, you won't regret it.

The tires have shown themselves to be the best, especially on snow and ice. On asphalt and concrete pavement, you need to be a little more careful, since 250 studs on one wheel, and a total of 1000 studs make themselves felt at high speeds over 100 km/h, the car floats a bit.
