Tyre reviews Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 698
- Rate
Tires 205/50 r17. Driving style very aggressive, often. Tire class in all indicators in hot weather +25 and above, but if cooler (+20 and below) loses positions significantly, becomes noisy, stiff, and grip also gets worse (from 0 to +10 when turning into a corner, it almost slips like in winter, especially if wet, struggles in fast starts even in third gear, and I only have 150 HP). Drove on the Hanty-Man

I purchased a car with these tires. I don't know how many kilometers the previous owner drove on them, but I drove 5 seasons and 80,000km. The main advantage of these tires is their reliability and endless tread. I replaced these tires not because of tread wear, but because the rubber on the sidewalls started to crack (years take their toll)
I didn't spare the wheels, didn't drive over rails, and periodically drove on mountainous rocky roads.
After all the abuse, the wheels remained even, without a single bulge

I've been thinking for a long time what to choose, a Michelin, a Bridgestone or something simpler and cheaper, the main criterion for the choice was a reliable sidewall. I've been thinking for a long time, felt a lot of rubber and settled on Michelin Pilot Exalto 2. The feelings are, of course, breathtaking, it really holds the road like on rails, very stable. Although I'm writing this review when I've not fully tested it yet, as

I put on the tires - didn't regret it. The car rides like it's on rails. On a wet road, you need to be more careful with them. My wife drives the car (not a very active driver compared to me), but even she noticed that the handling has changed dramatically for the better. The tires are not ideal, but very well-balanced. A bit noisy, but that's more of a nitpick. Handling is excellent. I don't know how they'll perform

Excellent grip and road stability. The 1st-class steering response makes it precise and confident in the tires. Good handling and easy recovery make it the best tire I've ever experienced. The asymmetric models seemed to work better on a front-wheel drive car.

Problematic handling with a lot of unexpected turnability on wet, saturated asphalt if fixed on the front axle. Very quiet and excellent handling in dry conditions. Very low rolling resistance. After 15Tkm I switched back to S-03 Potenza upfront. On the rear axle simply excellent. Excellent combination with Bridgestones upfront. Probably a great choice for lightweight class GTI cars

I now have almost 90,000 on my CLK55 and it still handles like a champion in its class. The pilots were original equipment and after trying other tires I switched back to Michelins for this set. WOW! Wet roads, standing water, these former hinderances to performance are completely negated by the Pilots. Another bonus, these tires are virtually noiseless. I'd definitely buy them again.

Probably the best tires I've ever had on a car! 28,000 miles on the rears of a 3-liter sport BMW! Very smooth ride. It's better for my BMW. There may be better tires out there, but I won't take the gamble - will stick with what suits the car.

Developed specifically for the Renaultsport Clio 182 and tyres suitable for sports cars in the UK. Priced best in every way above competitors including Continental Sport Contact 2 and 3, which are good but not as good on wet roads.

A very good and reliable tire for sporty driving. In high humidity conditions, however, it has traction problems when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gear, probably due to the car's huge momentum.
