Great tires! They hold the road well, even on asphalt, and are extremely reliable on worn-out snow. The only drawback is the noise level. I compare them to studs only. Excellent tires, slightly soft compared to the Michelin X-Ice North 2 winter tires, R17 215/50R17 minimum size. They hold the road well, and plow through deep snow. We'll see how they handle comfort in -35°C. Add new Golf models, it's only the Golf 5 available, so I had to choose the older model.

Michelin X-ICE North 3, size 215-65-16, is a complete disaster, deafening noise, everything vibrates like square wheels. The hum and noise is present from 35 km/h to 100 and beyond, it seems. I have no idea what to do. I think the noise will not diminish significantly even after break-in.
