Very soft and quiet, of course, so at speed it floats a bit, just like any tread. You have to understand also that you won't get the same grip on ice as on studs – just take that into account while driving. Returning, on a ferry from Germany on studded tires, I was surprised in 2014 to learn that they were forbidden! There were more trips planned. There was a bias against the "snow chains". I eventually bought Michelin X-Ice 3. Since then, I only travel in the winter on them!

Lasted 8 seasons (about 45,000 miles). Mainly, it was a mix of dry ice and wet asphalt. The tread would have lasted one more season, but it started to crack and fall off (possibly due to improper storage in the summer, or simply because it was 8 years old)).

My first used studded tyres, previously used studs. Use these tires on my Grant, 90% city driving, they hold well on snow ice and do well on loose snow too. Soft and quiet. I am satisfied with the choice.

The Michelin X-Ice 3 tyres performed well; it's the second time I've opted for them. You can feel the difference from the very first kilometres driven: noise from the road decreases and the grip of the tyre improves on various road surfaces. When it comes to tyre choice, I go by the principle: I'm not rich enough to buy cheap stuff!

Sold three complete sets of 231 on the rear axle for three seasons, size 225/40/18, the rest has another season left, the tires are excellent. Braking is predictable and adequate. Within the first year a small crack appeared on the sidewall of one of the tires, we had it patched up at the tire shop and that was it.

My Skoda Superb 3.6 FSI 4x4 has been using this tire for three winters now. It's a great tire, but I have to say it's a bit too soft and can be easily damaged. If you often drive on poor road conditions, I would recommend purchasing an extra tire. I'm very satisfied with this tire and would definitely recommend it!

Probably the best review would be the fact that there's nothing to say about the tire. I'm not a tire specialist and for me as a consumer, the most important thing is that I don't have to worry about them and they hold the road. Michelin handled this task. This is my first experience buying a studded tire for winter. There were concerns about the lack of spikes, but all-around use - out of town, highway, ice - showed that there are no problems.
