Not my first ContiIceContact, but the first one I bought was a used one, but I was pleasantly surprised by its traction properties on slippery roads - only the new Hakkapeliitta 4 (Made in Finland) gave me a similar feeling.
I took the tire from the first generation (BD) with an aggressive tread, as it behaves significantly better on ice, my review is about it.
Advantages: excellent traction on ice and snow, predictable behavior

Purchased in a 215/55 16 dimension. The tire was really nice. I bought it specially before a trip to the north for vacation. The car is going like a train on rails. It was easy to overtake the snow bank while overtaking and to overtake. The car didn't skid, it didn't pull, absolutely predictable reaction. Ice and packed snow are excellent! Low mileage, calm riding style, hard to evaluate tire quality. Bought 14-year-old tires for 2300 per set 175/70 R13. Not warned about the tires being 14 years old, but if consider the prices of new models, I would have guessed. Wanted to try Continental due to good reviews on tire tread durability. Proven winter tyres are practical and reliable. I've tried the Hakkapeliitta, but in our conditions, it only works in one direction, unlike the Conti. Really great on icy corners and snowdrifts - got tested during ice racing. And "Ice Road Truckers" also claims they're the best winter tyres. Thanks.
