Шины на Volkswagen Vento (Волксваген)

The compact sedan Volkswagen Vento has been present in the production range of the German brand since 1992. The model name was borrowed from the Portuguese language, from which it translates to "wind". It has been used repeatedly by the German concern in relation to various compact sedans intended for sale in certain regions.

European Version

The sedan debuted with this name at the very beginning of 1992, representing the Jetta 3rd generation model, intended exclusively for the European market. Visually, it was similar to its predecessor, but at the same time, it significantly surpassed it in terms of aerodynamic efficiency, demonstrating a drag coefficient of only 0.32. Another borrowing was the chassis, in which a significant part of the components from the previous model were used, and, hardly, the only significant difference was the wider track. The engine range consisted of gasoline and diesel engines with volumes from 1.6 to 2.8 liters. Among all this variety, only two modifications were particularly notable. First of all, this is the sedan with a 1.9-liter diesel "four" with a power of 90 hp. Together with excellent aerodynamics, this power unit was distinguished by exceptional fuel efficiency, consuming 5.7 liters in urban conditions and 4.8 liters on the highway. Another interesting modification was the version with a 2.8-liter gasoline VR6, developing 174 hp, with which it accelerated to "hundred" in just 7 seconds. Depending on the version, the power units were combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-range "automatic".

South American Version

In 2005, after a 6-year absence, the Vento name was again used by the German brand, but now in relation to the Jetta 5th generation sedan, intended for Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Technically, the car was one of the versions of the Golf 5th generation hatchback, using the same PQ35 platform, but in a modified version, which differed in increased distance between the wheel axles and the rear overhang. As a result, the sedan stands out with a large amount of space for passengers in the second row and a trunk volume of 453 liters. Another important feature was the rear multi-link suspension, developed by the same Ford engineers who worked on the chassis of the Focus hatchback. The production of the car for the South American market was carried out in Mexico, including the manufacture of the body, which contained a large number of power elements made of high-strength steel, and laser welding was used in its assembly.

In 2011, the next-generation model went into series production, with more than 70% of the parts and components developed in Mexico. Another important difference was the absence of common body panels with Golf and the use of a newly modified version of the PQ35 platform, which differed not only in the increased wheelbase but also in the rear subframe, to which the semi-independent suspension was attached. In 2018, the sedan of the next generation debuted, representing a copy of the 7th generation Jetta. The car "moved" to the modular MQB platform, which, among other advantages, made it possible to significantly expand the list of equipment. In particular, the sedan received the current version of the multimedia system, 10-color "atmospheric" interior lighting, LED headlights, rear lights, panoramic glazing with a sunroof, front seats with electric heating and ventilation, as well as natural leather trim.

Indian Version

In addition to South America, the German automaker has been offering a model with this name in India since 2010. For this country, a special version of the compact sedan was available, a budget model developed on the basis of the Polo hatchback, which differed from the car produced in our country only in minor details. Currently, the updated 2019 model is available, which differs from its predecessor in decorative design in the style of Polo GTI. The sedan received a radiator grille with a small cell, a different bumper with more massive fog lights, and rear lights with a changed pattern. The standard equipment includes rear parking sensors and a speed limiter, and in more expensive trim levels - the Volkswagen Connect multimedia system. In terms of technical specifications, the sedan is almost identical to its pre-update version. Under the hood of the base version, the "atmospheric" gasoline engine with a volume of 1.6 liters is still located, which has two alternatives. First of all, this is the in-line "four" with a volume of 1.2 liters with turbocharging, developing 110 hp. There is a modification with a 1.5-liter diesel engine of the same power. Depending on the trim level, the power units are combined with a 5-speed "mechanics" or a 7-speed "robot" with two clutches. The standard wheels for this car are with a mounting diameter of up to 16 inches, which, among other products, are presented in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
