Volkswagen ID.4 CROZZ is positioned by the manufacturer as a compact crossover. The car debuted in 2020, being intended for the domestic Chinese market. It is produced in the "Celestial Empire" at a joint venture with FAW
Key differences
The car is built on the modular MEB platform, sharing it and most components with the Skoda Enyaq iV. And, unlike previous examples of Chinese localization, externally it is identical to crossovers intended for Europe and North America. The only technical feature is likely to be the range of power units. All "Chinese" versions offer one electric motor with a capacity of 204 horsepower, located on the rear axle. With such a power unit, the crossover accelerates to "hundred" in 8.5 seconds. The battery capacity is 82 kWh, thanks to which the range reaches 520 kilometers. In addition to it, a charging device calculated for work with direct current is included in the standard equipment, thanks to which after 30 minutes of charging, it becomes possible to travel another 320 kilometers. Despite the lack of all-wheel drive, the crossover feels quite confident on dirt roads thanks to a ground clearance of 210 mm.
The car's interior is distinguished by an increased volume. This is largely due to the use of the MEB platform, one of the advantages of which was the extremely efficient use of space by mechanical components. In particular, this made it possible to get rid of the rather bulky central tunnel, which increased the area for the legs of the second row passengers. Top versions offer front seats with pneumatic sections and a massage function. The upholstery is a combination of artificial leather and special microfiber, 20% of which is recycled plastic.
