The changes also affected the salon, in which a new dashboard with smoother lines appeared. The engine range was presented in the range of 1.3-1.8 liters, and the power indicators reached 139 horsepower (in the most "charged" version). The main feature of the model was the abundance of modifications, which implied the presence of certain options (for example, air conditioning, heated seats, headlight washers, electric windows, power steering, etc.). Production continued until 1992, after which a long break ensued.

Generation 3

The model was revived in 2006, presenting the third generation. In fact, only the name and body shape remained the same, in everything else it was a new car, based on the A5 platform (on which the "Golf" of the fifth generation is also built). The car was equipped with modern engines with a volume of 1.4-2.0 liters, the most powerful of which provided 200 horsepower. A six-speed "mechanics" and a 6-7-speed DSG gearbox with a dual clutch were used as a transmission.

It was this generation that was officially presented in our country. Despite a fairly high price tag, the car was warmly received by domestic car enthusiasts.
