Creation History

The first-generation car appeared in serial production in 2002. Already in the standard configuration, it was equipped with a four-wheel drive transmission with an automatic interaxle differential. As an additional option, a pneumatic suspension was offered, which allowed changing the ground clearance in the range from 160 to 300 mm, as well as locks not only of the rear but also of the front differential. At that time, this was a unique offer that was not available from other car manufacturers. In 2006, a restyled version of the SUV appeared. In technical terms, the key innovation was the appearance in the standard configuration of an 8-speed automatic transmission produced by Aisin, and in the list of options, an adaptive pneumatic system with constant damping and body roll control appeared. The restyled version appeared in 2015. In addition to minor changes in the design of the front of the car, it was distinguished by an expanded standard configuration, which included bi-xenon headlights. In the engine range, a 6-cylinder V-shaped diesel engine with a capacity of 258 horsepower appeared.

Third Generation

The third-generation model appeared on sale in the spring of 2018. The car uses the modular MLB platform, significantly increasing in size compared to its predecessor. In technical terms, a significant difference was the reduction of the engine range. It is represented by two petrol engines - an in-line 4-cylinder with a volume of 2 liters and a V-shaped 6-cylinder with a volume of 3 liters, as well as two diesel engines - a 3-liter V6 and a 4-liter V8. In addition, the range of versions includes a "hybrid" in which the 3-liter petrol TSI works in symbiosis with an electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 17.9 kWh.
