The range of engines was reduced due to the exclusion from it of the 2-liter petrol engine from the Passat B4/B5, while preserving the most popular engines of the previous model with a volume of 1.4 and 1.6 liters.

Third Generation

The car of the third generation debuted in 2018. The principled difference from the predecessor was the modular platform MQB, namely its extended version. This made it possible to significantly increase the wheelbase - by 78 mm. Another innovation was the range of engines, which received more technological versions of the EA211 series engines with an aluminum block and a belt-driven camshaft.
