Tyre reviews Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2. Page 3 738

I chose this particular model Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2 225/50 R17 98T XL for a long time, considering that the Primorsky Krai has had very little snowfall in recent years, I was looking for tires with good handling on wet and dry roads. But winter 2020 showed itself in all its glory with icy rain and snow on top. The tire behaves well on snow and icy roads, I always drive a 4wd and only evaluate

Tires are fine for 2000km, but note the production date. It's better to take some precautions and buy new ones (these were produced 1.5 years ago). There is no guarantee about how they were stored before the sale or not.

Near-silent and very soft tire, ride comfortably. On dry, wet road and snowy mash rides predictably. Predictable handling on ice and packed snow, however, requires a speed of 5-10 km/h to avoid wheel spin, slippage and skidding.
The tire’s sidewalls are very soft and biting on ice, one of the wheels got damaged. I had to buy a new one.

I changed the car at the end of October 2016 when the temperature was +5 and below zero at night 0. But then in the beginning of November in Krasnodar the temperature rose to +15 sometimes and up to +20 but even in such a weather I didn't expect such excellent behavior of the car on winter tires. Super tires. Very quiet and soft on rain, no aquaplaning. In the middle of November the first snow fell and the car is running

We took Ultragrip Ice 2 in 2015 and rode out the season. The guy was in awe, glad he didn't make a mistake with the tires and didn't regret the penny. But it was time to sell the laces.

The tires were purchased based on the tests of an authoritative auto magazine. Urban driving conditions have confirmed the high quality of the tires, except for driving on ice (no ice encountered on the roads). Great tires!

Not bad for the money, but far from ideal. The first winter was mild with little snow, so the tires were a pleasure to drive on, providing a comfortable ride and good grip on clean asphalt, but the winter of 2015-2016 revealed their weak point, so I'll describe the drawbacks on an icy surface.
1. Helpless on the ice. It's very difficult to move, even with a slight incline, on a front-wheel drive, the grip is extremely weak

Tire beast!
Went to Tatarstan's snowfalls (January 2024) around the city and on the highway, the car was stuck for a week, buried in a snowdrift. Didn't clean half of it, drove out quickly, as if it were summer. Confidently on the roads, can drive faster than the flow. Yes, it's a friction tire, no miracles. But it clears and plows through everything. The roads have the most powerful snowfall in 20 years. Drives great!
Balanced perfectly, doesn't unbalance. Has directional stability, zero wheel wobble.
Low consumption, like a bad summer tire.
Regretted not taking the performance version. But after yesterday's trip, I regret it less.

A very snowy start to winter 2023. Not everywhere has managed to clear the snow. In the courtyards, on adjacent territories - a snowy "mess", the temperature is -8 to -12°C. The tires "bite", the car moves. On an uncleared roadway from a traffic light, the car leaves as one of the first. Where there is an icy crust, it holds perfectly. The tire is soft, as many have noted - quiet. The sidewalls, of course, are a bit soft (in comparison, for example, with Bridgestone - definitely), but I drove on Michelin summer tires with a soft sidewall - no problems arose during the entire period of use (~60,000 km.). Now I have an impression of the new tires. I can drive in different ways: both calmly and aggressively, the main thing is - reasonably.

Tires - BOMB!!!
I switched from Ice+ to Ice2 for a test - didn't regret it. In addition to all the advantages of Ice+, I got less noise and greater lateral stability. The only drawback is the price. I have more than 10 cars, so it hits my pocket.
Despite my "moderate" attitude towards Poles, they really make high-quality tires.
The speed of movement in the city without snow on a wet road from 79 to 140 - cameras interfere. The tires don't slip either in turns or when braking.
