Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2 225/50 R17 98T XL
The tires failed to brake on a patch of ice just a couple of weeks after being installed, as if they were summer tires on a hot day. As a result, an accident occurred, and I lost 200,000 rubles on repairs. In general, do not expect miracles on the ice with a light snow layer and better take snow tires with studs from the very beginning.

The main point is that the tyre has a very soft sidewall, which, with our roads, leads to punctures when driving over potholes. This is not only my personal opinion, but also that of a seasoned tyre fitter, who I have been consulting with for more than a year.
The tyre performed very well in snowy conditions when parking: despite the rear-wheel drive and low profile, there were no problems with parking in unploughed snowdrifts throughout

The tire is simply top class! I chose it after a long time of comparison and reading of tests in the press. By the end of 2016, it was the best one, but only for 185/60/15 size. In other sizes, this tire is not the leader.

Left the winter. No complaints. I chose a tire without studs, they are quieter, and I didn't notice any difference in handling. Prior to that, I took a set of Gudrid Extreme, one pair of my tires went through 7 winters (I had to discard two side wheels due to cuts) and looked better than Kumho, which ran for 3 winters.

Excellent tires, very comfortable on the road with regards to softness and noise, especially after the previously used, worn-out Danavas.

The tyre is very good in all parameters. A perfect middle ground for winter conditions in city conditions where it may be ice in the morning, water on the road in the day, and a few centimeters of snow in the evening.

Good tire, absence of studs in Moscow is more than justified, as even in this snowy winter there's usually clear roads. Easy to "dig out" from snowdrifts left by snow-clearing equipment, predictably behaves on ice. In snowy slush, it's worse, of course, but acceptable. Low profile allowed the car to lose almost no handling on turns, and responsiveness in lane changes compared to summer. Overall, it's all okay.

The tire is great, very quiet, hit a couple of potholes and did not fail, strong. On snow and asphalt holds the road very well. In puddles and slush, it behaves very well.
However, on black ice, the expected result, drives and brakes normally at a safe speed, the problem is to start without wheelspin and brake distance.

There were questions about balance (had to put a lot of weights on) Traction on snow is satisfactory, thought it would be really bad. This is compensated by comfort on dry and wet asphalt. Overall the tires are excellent!!!

Excellent Winter tyres in Saint Petersburg
Disadvantages:
- after "chipping" need to get used to braking (catch the force on the pedal)
- be careful on bare ice
Advantages:
- quietness
- excellent handling on dry and wet asphalt
- excellent directional stability and braking on snow
- decent snow traction- Vehicle:
