Tires on Ford Galaxy (Форд)

A spacious family minivan that started rolling off the assembly line in 1995. The model has undergone three generations and has undergone numerous restyling. After a 27-year release, in 2002, the company reported that the car was being discontinued in favor of more modern transport lines.

First Generation

The first "Galaxy" was a joint "product" of Volkswagen and Ford. Moreover, it was built on a universal platform, which was also used to create the "Sharan" and "Alhambra". The car was equipped with a 1.9-liter diesel engine in combination with a manual transmission (this is the most common combination in the post-Soviet space), as well as 2.0, 2.3, and 2.8 gasoline engines, which were produced by Volkswagen. Note that it was with a volume of 2.8 liters that the car was equipped with a four-wheel drive system, which the manufacturer later abandoned.

In 2000 and 2004, the model underwent restyling. The first one significantly affected the exterior, and the second brought only minor changes to the exterior (the rear lights and radiator grille changed).

Second Generation

The car became larger in size, and its components were produced exclusively by Ford (since Volkswagen sold its share). The machine has changed both externally and internally. Now, under the hood, 1.6 and 2-liter EcoBoost gasoline engines were installed, as well as a wide range of proprietary "diesels" from Ford. The Galaxy's novelty was the folding "in half" seats of the second and third rows for forming a large luggage compartment. The model also received many additional systems that increased not only its comfort but also its safety.

Third Generation

The novelty was first seen in 2015. The car was still supplied with original Ford engines running on diesel and gasoline. Its salon became even more ergonomic, and the body shape acquired dynamic lines. Along with mechanics and automatic, some modifications were now equipped with a variator (CVT). The manufacturer also returned the all-wheel drive option again.

In 2020, a facelift was performed, which changed the front of the car, as well as affected some elements in the salon. A year later, the company decided to abandon gasoline and diesel engines in favor of hybrids. For the latter, a 2.5-liter gasoline unit was used.

In 2022, it became known that Ford was stopping the production of the "Galaxy" model. Moreover, no replacement was announced either.
