How it all began

In 1992, the company introduced a new CW170 platform, which, in the opinion of many critics, was supposed to become the basis for the new Ford Fiesta. Also, new auxiliary systems appeared in the novelty, and the car itself acquired more impressive dimensions. This reflected an increase in comfort, both for the driver and for passengers.

Changes also occurred in the power units, some of which were modified, and some were completely discontinued. Among them, the 1.6 L Duratec Ti-VCT engine occupied a notable place, which had the ability to turn off the valves under low load. Due to this, fuel was saved.

In 2010, the third generation of the Focus appeared, which was built on an updated platform. It also featured a multi-link rear suspension, which provided a high level of comfort and good handling. The car began to be equipped with a large number of additional systems, including a parking assistant, a road sign recognition system, a hill start assistant, a lane departure warning system, and many others. All this brought the model to a new level and further increased its popularity compared to competitors.

In 2018, the 4th generation was presented, which is still being produced today. Its basis was a completely new C2 platform, as well as the presence of advanced technologies. The car has changed significantly in visual terms. As for the engines, the manufacturer reduced the number of power units to two: a three-cylinder gasoline engine and a 4-cylinder diesel engine, working in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed "automatic". A year later, a hybrid model was also presented.
