The debut of the second-generation car took place simultaneously with the premiere of the third-generation Focus in 2010. Both models used the Global C platform and a virtually identical set of components, one of which was the torque distribution system with electronic control, which was the first application of this system in this segment. Another innovation was the appearance of a version with an extended wheelbase, which later allowed for the production of 7-seat modifications. In most trim levels, the car was quite well-equipped - a folding second-row seat in a "flat floor", an electric tailgate with a motion sensor, a rearview camera, a parking assist system, a panoramic sunroof, and 2-zone climate control. In technical terms, in addition to the platform, the minivan was favorably distinguished from its predecessor by its engine range. It consisted of turbocharged engines from the Ecoboost family with a capacity of 1 liter and above. At the same time, diesel power units remained the same but underwent significant modernization.
