The 4th generation started in 1995. In essence, it was a large-scale restyling of the previous generation. The body gained slightly larger dimensions, with rounded edges. A sedan version appeared, and the power units remained almost unchanged, with the exception of the 1.6-liter gasoline engine being removed. Note that in England, the car occupied the leading sales positions for several years.

In 2002, a new generation appeared, the fifth in a row. It stood out with an updated design, making the car more attractive. The overall safety and engine range were also updated. The "Fiesta"-based predecessor of the "Fusion" crossover appeared.

The 6th generation, presented in 2008, underwent even more changes compared to the previous ones. The design became more interesting, with a clear emphasis on dynamism. In 2017, the 7th generation started with engines of 1.0, 1.1, and 1.5 liters, which ensured the car's economy. The exterior also changed, with a prevalence of smooth forms.
