L – added fabric elements of the salon upholstery, radio, and clock. GL – an extended version of L, under the hood of which could have a 2.0 or 1.8-liter engine, supplemented with a manual or automatic transmission. Ghia – the top trim level, implying the presence of such systems as air conditioning, electric windows, a cassette player, an on-board computer, a sunroof, a curtain for the rear window, and others.

Restyling 1987

During the modernization, the following were changed: the shape of the hood, the headlight unit. The side windows increased, the body rigidity was strengthened, and the door seals were improved. Among the updates – ABS, a new air conditioning system, headlight washers with a washer, and a front window heater. Two-liter engines began to be equipped with an injector system. It was from this year that the sedan body became available. Note that in 1988, a pickup truck appeared, which was developed on the basis of the "Sierra".

Restyling 1990

The modernization was not so global and more concerned the exterior: transparent turn signals (previously yellow), bumper painting in the body color, new stop signals. All brakes became disc, and injective engines appeared in the base. The car came off the assembly line until 1994, after which it was replaced by the Ford Mondeo.
