The Ford Transit Custom is a medium-sized commercial van. It has been produced by the European division of the North American manufacturer since 2012. The model line is positioned between the "passenger" Tourneo Custom and the larger Transit.

The car, presented in 2012, marked a "split" in the line of commercial Transit models. It was distinguished by its concept, being designed for use in short- and medium-haul transportation, mainly on urban roads and narrow regional highways. Accordingly, the layout was changed, which was characterized by front-wheel drive and a transverse engine arrangement. In addition, the car was equipped with one engine - a compact 2.2-liter diesel "four", but in several versions, differing from each other in power ratings - from 101 to 154 horsepower. In 2017, it was replaced by an even more compact 2-liter EcoBlue engine family, which, with similar characteristics, had a higher fuel economy and met the Euro-6 requirements.

Second iteration

The car of the second generation, presented in 2023, retained the concept of its predecessor, significantly differing from it with a changed exterior of the front part, which significantly reduced the aerodynamic drag coefficient. A more significant innovation was the line of power units. The car is equipped with a 2-liter diesel engine from its predecessor in the standard configuration. In addition to it, the lineup includes a hybrid power plant based on a 2.4-liter gasoline engine. The most "advanced" is the fully electric version, which received a 400V battery pack with a capacity of 74 kWh from the F-150 Lightning pickup truck. Moreover, it is available in two versions, differing from each other in the power of the electric motor - 100 or 160 kW, with the same torque - up to 415 Nm.
