The next attempt was the Expedition SUV, introduced in 1997, which was created on the chassis of the lightest pickup truck in the F-150 line, with a 5-door body and three rows of seats in all trim levels. However, in terms of dimensions and concept, this model was closer not to the Suburban, but to the more compact Tahoe. Two years later, larger versions of the F-series pickup trucks were released, which, in addition to their dimensions, were distinguished by the layout of the chassis, offering good manageability and smoothness of the ride on paved roads for such equipment. One of them, with the F-250 index, was used to create this SUV, which became the largest "passenger" car of Ford at the time of its debut, surpassing even the full-size E-350 van in terms of dimensions.

Main Features

Most of the technical components and body panels of the SUV were shared with the F-250 pickup truck. Nevertheless, there were a number of unique features. Externally, up to the middle posts, the car was completely identical to the F-250 pickup truck, sharing with it the front panel in the salon.
