Шины на Mercedes SL-Class (Мерседес)

Mercedes SL-Class – a sports car from the German manufacturer, which began its history back in 1954. The model was presented in the bodies of a cabriolet, roadster, and coupe. Over time, the company left only the roadster modification. Starting from 2021, the SL-class became part of the AMG subdivision.

History beginning

The first car of the class was the 300 SL model, which was equipped with a three-liter engine with 215 horsepower. The model was based on a racing car, so it differed in sports design and outstanding, for that time, driving characteristics: acceleration 8.9 seconds, maximum speed 224 km/h. A four-position manual transmission was used, and the drive was only rear-wheel. A distinctive feature was the "gull-wing" doors, which opened upwards. Initially, the car was not on the assembly line and was assembled manually. But the increased demand dictated its conditions. As a result, in 1955, the manufacturer released a new 190 SL model, which was based on the sedan platform and had a 105 horsepower engine under the hood. Despite the lower power, the exterior played its role, and the vehicle was still popular. Note that even today, such modifications are "delicious pieces" for collectors.

The second generation appeared in 1964. This was the Mercedes 230 SL, which had a 2.3-liter 150-horsepower engine under the hood. It was produced in cabriolet bodies with a soft and hard top, as well as a coupe. Among the design features are a rigid passenger capsule and crumple zones at the front and rear, which served as passive safety. In addition, the car was equipped with airbags and seat belts.
In 1971, the third generation was introduced, which differed in more rigorous forms. The vehicle was equipped with a wide range of engines, from 2.8 to 5.0 liters. The most powerful of them produced 240 horsepower.

Development

The fourth generation appeared in 1995. It was based on the W124 (E-class) platform. The car also received a wide range of engines, from V6 to V12. Among the innovations was the presence of a rigid arch above the passengers in the cabriolet, which protected them in the event of a rollover. During this period, Mercedes acquired the AMG company, as a result, "charged" models began to appear, such as the SL55 AMG, SL70 AMG, and others.

The fifth generation, which debuted in 2001, was presented only in the cabriolet body with a hardtop. The model received many technical innovations, including Active Body Control – an adjustable suspension. The engines varied from 3 to 6.2 liters, the most powerful of which had 670 horsepower. During its existence, the model underwent two restylings in 2006 and 2008. The last one significantly changed the body, making its lines more dynamic and the appearance maximally sporty.

Present day

The sixth generation, which debuted in 2012, is represented by a roadster with an electric roof folding drive. The car increased in size, but at the same time, it became lighter due to the use of aluminum elements. Among the features, you can highlight two types of suspension: semi-active and active. The latter provides adjustment to a specific type of road surface, providing optimal driving settings. In 2016, a restyling was carried out, which, in addition to visual changes, brought a number of technical innovations. Curve Tilting – a system that provides less body roll in turns, Intelligent Drive – a stereo camera supplemented by radar and sensors, providing control of the surroundings (lane keeping, emergency braking, etc.).

The seventh and latest generation to date started in 2022. The model again demonstrates a sporty appearance. In our country, the car is present in a significant quantity, especially older generations. Therefore, in the online store "Mosavtoshina", a wide range of tires and wheels for this model is presented.
