It is worth noting the engine range, consisting of in-line gasoline "fours" with a volume of 1.2 to 1.5 liters, belonging to the L-series. The 8-valve power units had two spark plugs per cylinder, which significantly reduced fuel consumption and harmful emissions, increasing traction in the medium speed range. The most "fun" 1.5-liter engine had not only 16 valves but also a VTEC variable valve timing system, which saves fuel at low speeds, adds traction at medium speeds, and power at high speeds.

Second generation

In 2007, the Japanese brand presented the model of the second iteration. It differed from the increased wheelbase, becoming slightly wider and longer, while preserving the concept of the predecessor, as well as the wide possibilities for transforming the saloon and the significant volume of the luggage compartment. The engine range was reduced to two engines - gasoline "fours" with a volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters with an updated i-VTEC variable valve timing system with a power of 100 and 120 horsepower, respectively. As with the previous model, the power units worked in pair with 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions, a variator, and in the list of additional equipment on several markets, the all-wheel-drive system was still present.

Third generation

In 2013, the car of the third generation debuted. It retained the layout and concept of its predecessors, being created on a new platform, which differed in the more widespread use of high-strength steel. In addition to increasing the body stiffness, it allowed for even more efficient use of internal space, increasing the volume of the passenger compartment by 136 liters. The engine range consisted of in-line gasoline "fours" with a volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters of the Earth Dreams family, and for the Indian market, a diesel modification with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine was offered. In addition, in Japan and Malaysia, the manufacturer presented a "hybrid" version, the power plant of which consisted of a 1.5-liter gasoline "four", operating according to the Atkinson cycle, an electric motor with a power of 30 horsepower, and a 7-speed robotic gearbox. At the same time, the car can move completely on electric traction, and fuel consumption in the combined cycle is less than 3 liters per 100 km of the route. Another feature of this version was the large volume of the luggage compartment - 470 liters.

Fourth generation

The car of the next iteration was presented in 2019. It was developed with "electrification" in mind. In the European market, it is offered exclusively with a "hybrid" power plant, an improved version of i-DCD, which was used in the previous model, differing from it by two electric motors. In addition, the car has undergone significant external changes, while preserving the large windshield. Additional visibility from the driver's seat is provided by a flat instrument panel with a display and wipers "hidden" under the rear edge of the hood.
