The engine range started with a new at that time 1.5-liter gasoline "four" of the Earth Dreams family, which developed 131 hp and worked exclusively with a variator. As an alternative, a hybrid power unit with the same engine was offered, but operating according to the Atkinson cycle, due to which its power was only 110 hp. This was fully offset by the presence of a 30-horsepower electric motor integrated into a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Both modifications in the basic version had front-wheel drive. Even for the hybrid version, an all-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled coupling on the rear axle and a fully independent rear suspension De-Dion was offered as an option.
