The Honda Fit is a compact hatchback, known as the "Jazz" on European and several other markets. The car first appeared in 2001 and, having undergone several modifications, remains relevant to this day. The model was first introduced in 2001 on the Japanese market. Initially, it was equipped with a single 1.3-liter engine, complemented by a variator. The drive was assumed to be both front-wheel and all-wheel. The car was liked by car enthusiasts, so in the same year, more than 100,000 copies were sold. In 2002, the car was introduced to the European market, for which a version with 1.2 and 1.4 liters was offered, combined with a manual transmission. Somewhat later, versions with a variator appeared, which had 7 "virtual" gears.Despite its compact size, the car had a large trunk with a volume of 380 liters, which could be significantly expanded by transforming the rear row. This became one of the reasons for the popularity of the car. In addition, the hatchback stood out for its equipment. Even in the base version, it had ABS, EBD (brake force distribution), and an emergency braking assistant. Later, a stability control system and disc brakes were installed at the rear (drum brakes in the "base" version).
Generation 2
In 2007, the second generation of the "Fit" was introduced, which increased in size. This affected both the space in the cabin and the trunk. Despite the novelty of the exterior design, the car retained its construction, which became more rigid due to the use of stronger steel alloys. This was reflected in the overall safety of the car. The engines, although they retained their previous volumes (1.2, 1.3, 1.5 liters), were radically redesigned, which led to an increase in their power parameters and optimization of fuel consumption. The system for transforming the rear seats was improved, providing quick expansion of the luggage compartment.In addition to the manual transmission and automatic transmission, the i-SHIFT gearbox appeared - a mechanics with robotic gear shifting. In this generation, the manufacturer introduced two new engine options: hybrid and electric.
Generation 3
A new model was launched in 2013. For the Japanese market, the "Fit" received two engines with a volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters with a power of 100 and 130 horsepower, respectively. The cabin now used higher-quality materials, and the instrument panel could boast of touch control of the main systems. At the same time, the cabin remained just as spacious and ergonomic. The handling became even more responsive, and the engines were able to provide the necessary dynamics for the hatchback.Among the powertrains, a hybrid version was also presented, which could be all-wheel drive. Thanks to this, the car's stability on wet and slippery surfaces was significantly improved.
Generation 4
The new model, introduced in 2019, is offered only with a hybrid powertrain based on 1.3 and 1.5-liter gasoline engines. At the same time, it has two electric motors, providing better distribution of effort on both axes. The presence of a flat instrument panel and a large touch screen improved visibility.
