Honda Stepwgn Spada is one of the versions of the eponymous minivan. It has been produced since 2003, initially differing from the "standard" with improved dynamic properties. Subsequently, this concept has changed repeatedly, and currently, comfort prevails.

Initial Version

The car debuted in 2003 at the Tokyo Motor Show. The standard minivan version differed slightly in the design of the front and rear with more protruding bumpers beyond the body dimensions. New Design

Until 2015, the Spada practically did not differ from the standard version. However, with the release of the fifth generation of the popular minivan, this approach was changed. The car received a different front design, differing from the "original" with LED headlights, an enlarged radiator grille, and a modified hood. Another important innovation was the appearance of a modification with a hybrid power plant. It was "taken" from the Accord and Odyssey, representing a combination of a 2-liter gasoline engine with 145 horsepower, working according to the Atkinson cycle, as a generator, and a 184-horsepower traction electric motor. Moreover, at high speed, both power units start working in parallel. This version also differs from the standard one in the salon, where a different transmission control selector and a digital instrument panel with modified backlighting are used. The gasoline engine is directly connected to the driving wheels. In turn, the minivan in the standard version is also equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, but with a turbocharger. The drive can be either on the front or on all wheels.

Current Version

In the winter of 2022, the Japanese brand presented a minivan of the next generation. Compared to its predecessor, it differs in significantly increased dimensions. The wheelbase and height of the car have not changed. Important changes in the exterior were the front struts, which were moved 7 cm back, improving visibility. The hood has a pronounced horizontal arrangement, allowing the driver to better feel the car's dimensions. The rear struts have become more massive, largely due to the desire to increase the stiffness of the body in the rear part, where the door lost the complex transformation mechanism and became a conventional lifting one, but with an electric drive and a height limit sensor. In technical terms, the "Spada" does not differ from the standard version, except for the salon, which uses a different decor and higher-quality finishing materials, as well as traditionally more protruding bumpers and a large spoiler on the trunk door. It is worth noting that the car was able to avoid the global trend of increasing the seating diameter of wheels.
