Tires on Honda (Хонда)

The Honda automobile brand belongs to the Japanese conglomerate of manufacturers that produce a vast array of products in addition to cars. First and foremost, motorcycles, in the production of which this company has been holding leading positions since 1959. Another leadership position is held by the company in the production of internal combustion engines - more than 14 million units of products per year.

History

The founder of the brand is Soichiro Honda, who throughout his life was interested in automotive technology. He worked as a mechanic in a workshop where he modified cars for racing. In 1937, with the financial support of an acquaintance, he founded the company Tokai Seiki, which produced piston rings. After a series of failures, the company received a contract to supply them to Toyota, but due to the low quality of the products, it was terminated. In 1941, cooperation was resumed after most of the production processes were automated to such an extent that they could be performed even by unskilled workers. During World War II, Tokai Seiki was placed under the control of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and after its end, it was sold to Toyota. The funds received were spent on creating a technical research institute, which began operating in October 1946. It was located in a 16 square meter hut, and the staff consisted of 12 people. Initially, the enterprise was engaged in installing 50-cubic Tohatsu engines on bicycles. Then it mastered the production of a copy of this engine, which was called the Honda A-type. In 1949, the "institute" was sold for 1 million Japanese yen, and the funds were used to create Honda Motor.

In the first years of its existence, the company was engaged in motorcycle technology. The debut model was the Honda D-Type, the first bike to be called Dream. By 1964, the company had become the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer. At the same time, the automotive theme began to develop. In August 1963, the company presented a compact pickup T360, equipped with a 4-cylinder 356-cubic engine, which became one of the cheapest commercial vehicles. Following it, a sports car model S500 with chain drive to the rear wheels was released, like the engine, "borrowed" from Honda motorcycles.

Features of the model range

One of the characteristic features of all Honda cars is the use of unconventional technical solutions. In particular, its models were the first in Japan to use front-wheel drive, anti-lock braking system, steering with variable effort, multi-point fuel injection, and engines with variable valve timing. The company's model range consists mainly of passenger cars, ranging from urban subcompacts for the domestic market to full-size pickups and minivans developed specifically for the US and Canada. Thanks to standardization, reduction of platforms and components, the company is very flexible in changing production, producing more of some models and reducing the production of others. However, even these features do not cancel the need to replace tires on Honda cars. They are presented in a wide range in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
